The Friend Style Files......Blair

I thought I would take a break from incessantly talking about my own decor taste and what I want for myself and talk about the decor styles of those nearest and dearest to me.

I'm going to start, most appropriately, with my oldest and best friend, Blair.

This is Blair. Isn't she darling?
Now, if Blair were a prospective client, she would be a hard one to crack.
Not only is she one of my most stylish friends, but she's also very particular, and has classic, simple taste.

She has always told me that the epitome of her decor style is Cameron Diaz's character Amanda's house in The Holiday. (pictured above)

With that in mind, I am focusing on her boudoir.

Inspiration for Miss Blair's Boudoir.....

I'll start with this gorgeous bed from Restoration Hardware, which I would order in a mocha velvet fabric.

I would paint the walls this Stonewall from the "Urban Loft" at Ralph Lauren Home

I would top the bed with some linen Pom Pom bedding with French embroidery and hemstitching in all white

And I would add some flax colored shams like these from Pine Cone Hill

To add some color, I would add three or four of these gorgeous pillows from Woody Liana on Etsy

Above the bed, I would hang an unframed canvas with this black and white photo of Audrey Hepburn printed on it.
Blair has always been a fan of Audrey. She HAS to be a part of the boudoir.

Blair loves to have long chats with girlfriends or read magazines, so she has to have a little seating area, complete with two of these chairs....

Recovered in this beautiful Schumacher Fabric....

With this side table in the middle...

For her tv, I would position this fabulous piece across from her bed.

I would put these mirrors above the console.

And lean this mirror against the wall....

These antique side tables would flank either side of the bed.

And I would have two of these lamps on the bed side tables.
And because I LOVE an unexpected design element, I would hang this fabulous chandelier from Horchow above her bed.

I would hang these curtains from West Elm

and put this rug down to one side of her bed.

I love this frame as an antique element to add to the mostly modern vibe of the room.

The Breakfast Club

I thought we'd go back to talking about the decoration of my dream house....

The next room I'd decorate is the breakfast room right off the kitchen. There are two things I want to make this room: Relaxing and Pretty. This is where we'll eat most meals, entertain friends on a casual night, balance our checkbooks, and surf the internet with coffee in the mornings.

The breakfast room as it stands now....

Some inspiration....

I would paint the three walls of this room this light grey color from

And then do an accent wall in one of these wallpapers....

And put down a sisal rug... This option is from ikea. Perfect and Inexpensive. Aka: If someone spills coffee I won't cut their head off.

To add a little interest to the room I would add a console like this one from Home Decorators
The top I would make a coffee bar with a Keurig coffee maker and a fabulous lamp like this one from Horchow

Over the dining table I would use a light fixture like this from Horchow
How fabulous and unexpected?

For the breakfast table, I would use the farmhouse table we have now.
Found at an estate sale by my dear momma!

I would add rattan chairs like these from ikea
and spray paint them a dark grey like this....

and cover the cushions in this fabric from Schumacher

For table accessories I would use these fabulous vintage silver cream and sugar bowls

I actually already have this runner in cream from Pottery Barn

I also already have a vintage 7-up crate like this one.

And for a final touch, I would fill it with a cluster of potted orchids...
