Bar Cart Stylin'

I need to start off this post with an apology to ya'll for being such a sporadic poster!

I've recently started a new job and there haven't been enough hours in the day to work, eat, and sleep, much less blog.

My sincerest apologies. As I get more settled in my new role (in a design related job, no less, AH!)

I promise my posting will become more frequent.

Please, bear with me.

Now for this post. 

I dropped by one of my favorite antique haunts in Fort Worth this weekend.

And found a bar cart for $60.

The best part? It's faux bamboo with TWO shelves.

And even better, after stripping the white paint it had on,

I found that it's a shiny brass underneath!

SO, I've been looking for some inspiration as to how to arrange it.

I think the way you arrange your bar cart says so much about you, dontchathink?

I'm a lookin' and I'm a likin' what this person did....

Especially with the San Pellegrino Aranciata. MY FAVE.

I will definitely be needing FABULOUS lowballs like these gold greek keys from Pieces!

Decadence..... A Bridal jewelry story.

I'll say it until I'm blue in the face,

but there's nothing that bores me more than seeing the "same" bridal look 

Over and OVER again.

I mean, where's the decadence people?

Where's the GLAM?!

What I like most, is seeing something unexpected!

That especially goes for where jewelry is concerned.

 Like when my friend Kaitlin got married this summer.

Her three strand blue necklace with the diamante bloom was made by my sweet sister.

 And last spring, when my friend Natalie tied 

the knot, she donned these gorgeous purple stunners for her reception.

My current Cup of Tea

One of my close friends, who is also an avid reader of my blog recently said to me,

" Ok, I GET it. You love anything 1960's and want to get married in Palm Springs.

Please talk about something else"

A valid point.

So I decided to touch on a few other things I'm loving right now.

In no particular order.

The combination of peachy pink and gold.

It's just glamorous and it makes me feel warm and happy.

In fact, really the combination of pink and any other color.

I adore this living room....

Wedding decor that feels demure and French.

This look is MADE for a Napa wedding.

Tufted sofas in a powder blue.

There's something so regal yet so demure about them.

Playful brass accessories.

This one is for my friend Jackie.

A dream vacay to Mendoza, Argentina for relaxation and wine tasting.

It's supposed to be a less on steroids Napa.

Let's see how much my man-friend reads this bloggity.

What styles are you into right now?

Fabulous Palm Springs Abode!

I was perusing the Sotheby's and Trulia websites, per usual, for photos of fabulous Palm Springs abode's. I came across this home on 2733 East Kings Rd.

It was designed in the late 1960's by architect, William Krisel.

I was first of all pleased to see that unlike the many $1 million + homes in the area, it's priced at $545,000.

Still a lot of money, but definitely something slightly more attainable for mere mortals!

I am also impressed by the gorgeous mid-century construction, because it adds the element I am most crazy for when it comes to mid-century homes---- LIGHT.

I love the way these homes are constructed to let the most exterior light possible shine through.

And sunshine just makes you happier, doesn't it?

Although the decor is not really my taste, it works well with the style of the home.

( I would need an extra shot of glam though..... And I really see a kelly green and aqua palette in this home!)

It reminds me alot of the Hampton's house that the Sex and the City girls visited in the last episode of Season 5, " I love a Charade"

Or as it's more commonly known,

"The one where Samantha throws cantaloupes at a couple of stripper townies"
