A Magical Little Breakfast Area....

I was browsing through Little Green Notebook (one of my absolute favorite blog reads!) a few days ago and I came across this kitchen.
And I just about fainted.

How GORGEOUS is it?

It seems that you don't see many kitchens like this that are beautiful, functional, and whimsical.
I'm obviously loving the huge island covered with carrera marble and the white subway tile backsplash.
But it's the giant gold crystal chandelier and the gorgeous silver and gold metallic wallpaper that are really catching my eye. What a fancy place to have breakfast or morning coffee!

Whenever I see a photo of a home that's cut off like this, I often wonder what's to the side that I can't see.
It makes the little decorator inside me run wild with imagination.

Here, I'm imagining a gorgeous little breakfast nook.

Complete with a Farmhouse table with an French Industrial feel.

And a Fabulous tufted banquette on which to snuggle up with your morning coffee,
Covered in a charcoal linen.

Ever since I saw these chairs at Boxwood Interiors in Houston last weekend, I haven't been able to get them out of my mind! They're painted Louis XVI chairs, upholstered in a Vintage Clarence House Fabric.
FABULOUS.

So I'm imagining something similar in this little breakfast nook
These beauties are from eBay.
And I would keep the chipping paint on them for a vintage effect

eBay

And reupholster them in a fun fabric like these:

This is a Clarence House Fabric style from 2008, so who knows if they still have it, but I LOVE.
In the Yellow, for sure.

I also like this Schumacher print for it's similarity to the Clarence House print on the chairs.

I am also loving this slightly more modern version, HotHouse Flowers from Celerie Kemble for Schumacher

And for a burst of color, I  imagine there are yellow silk dupioni curtains to the big gorgeous windows that are inevitably to the side of the breakfast area. Pure MAGIC.

What kind of breakfast area do YOU imagine?
